I downloaded it and tried to install but got same results as described above. GarageBand 10.2 Update Hot on the heels of their annual World Wide Developers Conference this year, Apple has released updates for GarageBand 10 on macOS and GarageBand 2 on iOS. After installing and downloading included content of 6.5 (all worked fine) when starting 6.5 GarageBand told me about a newer Version and linked me to the App Store to download the 10.0.3. It's part of a new mac purchase or sold in app. I had a look at my App Store List of bought Apps and saw, that garageband 6.5 and 10 appear in the list. All is fresh and clean on my Yosemite Installation. So what could cause this problem to GarageBand. When Garageband tried to install the downloaded Sounds, the same error message appears. I started it again as the message told me before and the installation process began again starting from loading new sounds window as described above. When clicking the OK button, Garageband is closed. Please close Garageband and restart it to load and install the new sounds again." after a few seconds a window appears telling me that "Garageband could not install the new sounds. After download finished ( message windows is still there) the installation process for the sounds started - I had to enter my admin password for this.
After Download, Garageband began with install itself, after finishing the installation procedure of the App itself I got a Message window "Thank you loading GarageBand from Mac App Store.downloading new sounds" and it starts downloading new sounds. I clicked on "install" and Download started. HDD Space is 500GB free, so it should be enough space. I did a fresh install of OS X Yosemite on my MacBook Pro 17" late 2011 and than wanted to do a fresh install of Garageband 10.0.3 from the App store.
